Circe got successfully launched on Saturday. Trevor and I rode her down the rails. The 2014 season has begun!
She is temporarily moored in Peter Jones' dock west of the mast crane (see photo). It was a bit windy on Saturday to be trying to rig up mooring lines in our regular spot, so we opted for an easier short tem solution. We need to relocate by May 14 when Dove returns.
Note the sun glistening on her new gold cove stripe and the new Plexiglas on the fore hatch.
Sail past is less than 3 weeks away on Saturday May 17 and Pam and I are away in BC until May 6th so not a lot of time available to get Circe ship shape. The first Wednesday race is scheduled for May 21st. Ed: check out the Circe calendar to the right! If you open the site on your phone, you can instantly import important dates into your calendar! Technology - amazing!
Who wants to join us for sail past? It is followed by the sail past dinner in the evening if you want to participate in that as well. Let me know who would like to join us for either the sail or the dinner.
Also let us know who is available for the first race. We have a line on 3 strong young male winch grinders to add to the crew list this year as well. Trevor is acting as a crew broker in two of these.
And the other Circe launch is Susan's new Circe blog. Check out http://www.circesailing.com/. Its a work in progress and Susan has more photos yet to add but its looking great! But she is also looking for feedback and suggestions so check it out.
